Senior Commercial Credit Analyst FT - Exempt - Financial Center First CU

Salary Range:$50,000.00 To 75,000.00 Annually

PURPOSE: The Commercial Credit Analyst has responsibility for responsive credit approvals and providing credit guidance to lender(s) in administering the loan portfolio; provides credit process support and leadership in achieving creditworthy profitable growth of the commercial loan portfolio.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

• Administers the loan portfolio to ensure a proper mix of loan types, maximize yield, maintain quality, reinforce servicing standards and minimize losses
• Provide guidance to the Executive Director of Commercial Lending engaged in lending activities  
• Informs the Assistant Vice President of Commercial Lending and members of the Business Loan Committee in a consistent and timely manner of material matters and emerging trends affecting the loan portfolio, loan policy, and individual loan transactions   
• Looks for opportunities to increase efficiencies and reduce costs
• Ensures that loan services are provided to borrowers & staff including credit analysis, evaluation of financial statements, credit investigations, and collection of overdue loans
• Assists the members of the Business Lending Committee in developing expertise and understanding standards for credit process, credit analysis, risk ratings, exceptions and portfolio reporting
• Advises and assists in problem loan workout account strategies including decision making, monitoring, remedial action and customer meetings
• Assists the commercial lending department with various operational aspects of the department to include account maintenance and document preparation 
• Provides effective coaching and management of Commercial Credit Administrator and Jr. Commercial Analyst positions
• Responsible for the development and effective monitoring and reporting of their performance through the Credit Union’s performance management process
• Works closely with the Commercial Lending team to ensure a thorough workup and review process is conducted in a timely efficient manner.

 REQUIRED BACKGROUND:

• Requires knowledge typically gained through the attainment of a four-year degree in business, accounting or finance or equivalent related experience
• Preferred to have a minimum of 5 years relevant commercial lending experience, specific to credit analysis and review
• Preferably have at least 2 years supervisory experience
• Ability to successfully coach and develop assigned staff
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong analytical and credit risk assessment skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, self-motivated, strong interpersonal skills
• Articulate and comfortable in communicating with all levels within the CU organization and with external customers
• Proficient computer skills.  Working knowledge of Word and Excel
• Knowledge of NCUA & DFI regulations pertaining to lending and debt collection
• Knowledge of credit union policy, underwriting guidelines and procedures
• Must be able to achieve proficiency on Credit Union computer system and Microsoft Office products

 WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work requires physical mobility within the general work environment, continual communication with members, repetitive tasks and a high level of attention to security. The work is performed in a general office environment. Some travel may be required to the outlying branches, commercial client locations or area business/community functions.
