Branch Manager - Members Source CU

Under the direction of the Member Experience Manager, the Branch Manager works with staff and members at MSCU. Specifically, s/he is responsible to manage a retail credit union branch and is responsible for ensuring members are provided with professional friendly service, accuracy regarding members transactions, and employee development.

Branch Managers’ Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work with Griffith Branch Manager to create/update schedules
  • Handle discrepancies/member complaints
  • Order and verify all cash orders
  • Verify all new accounts opened in Merrillville or Online
  • Order & Inventory Merrillville branch supplies
  • Ensure signage is up to date
  • Work with the Griffith branch manager to conduct interview and hire new employees
  • Employee Evaluations and Reviews
  • Assign and set-up employees with credentials for 3rd party platforms
  • Order gift cards and verify monthly inventory
  • Verify payroll hours for MSRs
  • Complete Monthly Branch performance report
  • Track and verify employee incentives
  • Complete other related duties as required or assigned
  • Provide unparalleled service to our membership members, products, and services
  • Recruit, develop, and motivate branch personnel
  • Conducting employee performance evaluations  
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with potential and existing members  
  • Represent the credit union in local community organizations
  • Perform other duties, responsibilities, and projects as assigned

    Manager and Assistant Managers Responsibilities

    • Process/Approve incoming and outgoing wires
    • Process Remote Deposit Capture
    • Check and verify transactions for bill pay through Payveris
    • Train all new hires and perform 90-day evaluations
    • Open new accounts & order debit cards
    • Process/Manage the online accounts
    • Balance branch at the end of the day
    • Balance all offices every morning (Daily Balancing)
    • Provide Notary Service
    • Reverse/Correct Branch Errors
    • Process Travel Notices

      Manager and Member Service Representatives Responsibilities

      • Answer incoming calls/process transactions
      • Work and balance a cash drawer
      • Participate in marketing events and marketing committee
      • Update Griffith signage
      • Process VISA Payments
      • Open Certificates
      • IRA Deposits & Withdraws
      • Process Coin reimbursements
      • Clean & Sanitize office

        Branch Managers’ Credentials, Experience and Skills:

        • Previous experience working in a financial institution as a Branch Manager, Assistant Branch Manager, or related experience
        • The ability to work independently, utilizing analytical skills, organizational techniques and the effective use of time management
        • Ability to get along with, and work with people in situations involving pressure and stress while maintaining a business-like composure
        • Ability to work in an environment of urgency, which demands flexibility and on-the-spot decision making.
        • Be an active listener by giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking appropriate questions.
        • Ability to comprehend written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
        • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

           Physical Requirements:

          Frequently requires use of manual dexterity and repetitive motions, primarily with the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.  Must be able to occasionally lift and exert force of up to 40 pounds. Standing, filing, bending, kneeling, keyboarding, telephone usage, sitting for extended periods of time
